For a century, Wah Yan College, Kowloon (WYK) has been blessed with trust from the city in our education and has thrived in the grace of God. Generations of warm-hearted gentlemen have passed through our Main Gate embodying the finest intellect and sincere passion for serving the greater good, both locally and internationally. At the 100th anniversary of WYK, nothing befits the occasion more than paying tribute to the motto of the Society of Jesus – Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam (AMDG).

This bilingual tagline is especially meaningful for Wah Yan, as it is a school founded by a Chinese, and succeeded by the Jesuits; the teachings of Confucius align with the values of Jesuit education: MAGIS, Men of Human Excellence, and Men for and with Others.

As we transcend the century and beyond, we shall keep staying true to the motto of the Society of Jesus in nurturing more great minds and warm hearts to serve the greater good, striving to do better to scale new heights – for the greater glory of God.

Over the course of 100 years, WYK has brought us all together -

our founder, Mr Peter TSUI, our predecessors, our Jesuit Fathers, generations of Wahyanites, and friends of Wah Yan from all walks of life. Housed under the same roof, we share a lot of fond memories. Years and even decades after graduation, we are as closely-knitted as ever in the name of Wah Yan, the kinship that we share always transcends spatial and temporal limits.

Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam (AMDG) is the motto of the Society of Jesus – what we anchor ourselves to over the past 100 years, and what steers us through as we journey into the next.
